Recovery from Codependency - The Courage to Change

Taking risks and behaving in different ways is your way through.  Recovering from codependence requires courage and strength to do the opposite to what you ordinarily would do and to refrain from your old habits. Here is a list of practices that will help you recover.


  • Journalling 
  • Attending 12-step meetings and counselling 
  • Not enabling 
  • Practising nonattachment 
  • Minding your own business
  • Having a spiritual practice 
  • Developing independent behaviour
  • Finding hobbies 
  • Taking action to meet your needs
  • Setting & pursuing your goals
  • Trying in discovering new
  • Building supportive relationships 
  • Reaching out when you are in pain
